Thalassaemia Major is a fatal form of hereditary anaemia. Patients with Thalassaemia Major require monthly blood transfusions, nightly injections and other medical treatments to live. Current study confirmed that one out of 11 of the population in the HKSAR are Thalassaemia carriers. Among all genetic disorders, Thalassaemia is considered to be the commonest known genetic problem in Southern China.
Children's Thalassaemia Foundation was founded in 1993 to ensure that children born with Thalassaemia Major can grow in a healthy and happy environment, and to achieve its ultimate goal of eradicating the disease in Hong Kong.
To raise funds for the needy, we are holding a Flag Day on July 31, 2010 (Saturday). You are invited to render your support to Thalassaemia Flag Day by forming your volunteer team or making donation for the Gold Flag.
Enclosed are the gold flag donation reply slip and volunteers recruitment form. It will be gratefully if you will post it to your friends and colleagues, so more people are acknowledged of this charitable event.
If you have further information required, kindly contact our Coordinator, Ms Jessis NG, at 2523-5400 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
May I thank you in advance for your kindness and support of our Foundation. I look forward to receiving your favorably reply soon.
